A small business website has two jobs. It has to be found by the people looking for what you sell, and it has to turn the ones who arrive into a conversation. Most sites do neither, because they were designed to look good in a meeting and never built to be read by a search engine or used on a phone. What should a small business website actually do?
Answer three questions inside a few seconds: what you do, who it is for, and what to do next. Everything else on the page is there to support one of those.
Then it has to make the next step easy. A booking calendar on the page, a form that lands in your CRM, and a follow-up that goes out without anyone remembering to send it. A site that collects an inquiry and leaves it sitting in an inbox has done half the job.
Why do good-looking websites fail to bring in business?
Because looking good and being found are separate pieces of work, and most builds only do the first. A site can be beautiful in a browser and hand back an empty shell to the crawler deciding whether to show it.
The other common cause is one page trying to do everything. A single page can only ever rank for your business name. Each thing you sell needs its own page, written around the question a buyer would type.
What is included in a website build?
The design and the writing, a page for each service, booking and forms connected to your CRM, the search groundwork built in from the first page, and reporting set up so you can see what the site is doing.
We build the search work into the site as it is built, because adding it afterwards means doing the job twice. Already have a site you like? SEO on its own may be all you need.
Who owns the website when it is done?
You do. The domain is registered in your name, in your own account, and if we stop working together the site goes with you.
A big company would never let a vendor hold its website. A small one should not have to either.

Questions people ask
How long does a website build take?
It depends on how many pages you need and how quickly we can get your material: photos, service details and the answers to the questions your buyers ask. A focused landing page is quick. A full site with a page per service takes longer, and we will give you a date on the call once we have seen what you have.
Can you fix my current site instead of rebuilding it?
Often, yes, and we will say so. Most small business sites need fixing, not replacing. We rebuild when the site cannot serve real content to a crawler, when you cannot add pages without a developer, or when it is too slow on a phone to hold anyone.
Do I own the website and the domain?
Yes. The domain is registered in your name and the site is yours. If we stop working together, you keep both.
Will the site work with the tools I already use?
In most cases. Forms, booking and follow-up connect to the CRM and calendar you already have. If something you use cannot be connected, we will tell you before the build starts, not after.
